Anona Haley, 8, and Lillie Goodson, 10, balance on the fence that separates Minam campground from the Wallowa river as her family pack up and get ready for a rafting trip down the river. They are from BZ Corner, Wash. She, along with family and friends, are floating 45 river miles from Minam to Troy, a trip that will cover two days for the families. Camping at Minam State Recreation Area just a couple miles north of Highway 82, downstream from the confluence of the Minam and Wallowa rivers, offers plenty of outdoor options. Rafters have river access, in spring and fall, steelhead and trout are plentiful, wildlife is abundant and the exploring options are endless. Photo by Jamie Francis/The Oregonian
