SAUVIE ISLAND, OREGON - September 18, 2012 -  Alejandro Cardenas tosses a red cabbage into the trailer the tractor is pulling slowly through the field at sunrise.  The air is crisp and there is an intensity to the early morning light that saturates the produce.  The cabbage field is on The Pumpkin Patch farm owned by Bob and Kari Egger.  This farm has been here since 1967.
