Christopher Herrera (left) and Roberto Hernandez, journeyman iron workers, prepare one of the main rebar cages for installation in the new transit bridge over the Willamette River. The support structure will be 175 feet tall and be part of the cable stay-style bridge which will carry light rail, pedestrians and other public transportation, but no auto traffic. On Friday and Saturday, 1,800 cubic yards of concrete is set to be poured on the west tower pier cap which will facilitate weight distribution for that tower. Brent Wojahn/The Oregonian
